Denim Rhapsody
I remember when I was younger, and I meant really young like a primary school kid, I hated denim a lot. Mom would make us wear denim jeans most of the time, and with short hair, I felt so much like a boy; other kids were always in floral frocks and pink sequined skirts.
Then, it was secondary school days, when denim jeans and skirts were my staples. Suddenly, they became so chic and versatile, and I wore them all the time. It was since then that I rooted in me the vitality of investing in good denim pieces.
And now, as a working adult, I fell in love with denim on a whole new level. It has this understated sexiness, and goes exceptionally well with killer heels. Though there are certain restrictions to wearing denim jeans to the office, I have found other ways to bring my denim pieces to light on weekdays - a dark denim jacket over a printed dress, or a white denim shirt with leather pants. And for one piece that takes you from work days to the weekend, opt for a sleek denim dress.
Really, you don't need to do much when you find that perfect denim piece. If any, just pile on some textures and colors. For this look, I chose a statement spikes necklace and colorblock suede stilettos. No frills, and voila! Just remember to throw on a structured blazer if you are stepping into a meeting.
