Black used to be the only color in my wardrobes. Yes, I have a few wardrobes at home, but upon opening them, all you would see were black dresses, black tops, black skirts, black shorts... and my mom complained about me being too "solemn" in my dressing. But it really wasn't until I began working (the start of aging!) that I started wearing bright colors, florals and prints.

But Black will always have a special place in my heart. It is still my favorite color, and when I don't know what to wear, it will always be something black. Sometimes, while putting together black pieces, I would choose to include little details and surprises to keep the fun in my style alive.

I fell in love with this black tutu skorts when I first saw it. The glitter bits add a touch of glam to the otherwise safe-looking design, and I can already think of a hundred ways to wear it. And because I have a soft spot for swans (I think most girls do), I couldn't resist picking this sweater too. Since the swans had red lips, I thought I would add more interest to my all-black outfit via a pop of red on my feet and in my hands.

Cannot say enough how I really adore this ensemble - a little cutesy, a little girly minimalism, and still very dinner-appropriate.
