Travelogue: Asian Dream // Bali

A walk through rustic Ubud is a true Balinese experience, and while modernization is creeping in and changing the fabric of Bali's landscape, this part stays untouched and preserved. If that is even what it is meant to be. The wood, the carvings, the warm colors, the bougainvillea shrubs and palm trees... heck, even the moss on the steps was quite a sight to behold. Ubud may be rural, but I would prefer to call it 'ancient' - endearingly, of course.
It was monsoon when I visited last week, and it will still be monsoon when I return next week. But the sun was merciless (and I'd rather it stay this way), which probably explains my occasional bun. And my summer romper. I love my romper if you don't already know. I love it so much because it is from Fairebelle, because it has daisy prints, and because it is of a soft chiffon and polyester blend which swings as I walk.
When you know you are going to perspire excessively, and have to bear with the sticky aftermath feeling together with half a bottle of insect repellant on you, the last you'd want is to have pieces of accessories "sticking" to your skin unnecessarily; that was why I chose to do with only a statement necklace to complete ensemble. But the next time I wear it, I will definitely throw on a pair of killer black stilettos, wear a stack of bangles and curl my hair.
And yes, be sure to coat yourself with insect repellant when at Ubud. Even within your villa/ hotel room.
