Travelogue: Ethereal // Bali

A recent return to Bali saw us feeling and understanding Ubud after hearing so much about that quieter area, and it took me by surprise for so many discoveries - the proximity to nature, the existence of villages and the indigenous culture, the amazing food (I never really fancied Indonesian cuisine but I loved every Nasi Campur I had during my days there!), the way of life, the simplicity...
Being in the heart of Mother Nature made me feel more "grounded" and "earthy" - if I do make sense to you at all. During my time there, I just became a whole lot simpler. Maybe you still don't quite get me, but I really meant that I felt strongly about life's simplicity, and everything was just pretty much "going back to the basics".
Well, I took it quite literally, too. Black and white for my first feature in Ubud; this is how exactly I want to relay the simplicity. A quiet lunch with my love, a hideaway spot with a splendiferous view of the lush greenery, addictive pork ribs and fresh watermelon juice, no makeup (except my lash extensions) and Fash Mob - someone who always spoils me with the best quality apparels and have me looking effortlessly chic no matter where I go.
Sometimes, it feels like Fash Mob is a baby of mine, a "godchild" of sort. I have worn their in-house label, Bridge, since its launch - from self-manufactured drape blazer, to floral playsuits, to basic tucker tees, to applique rompers, and cape poncho (also my current obsession which I should do a shoot soon to show all of you just how stunning it is!).
Today's piece is beautiful too. Look at the delicate crochet sleeves and the dipped hem! I can already imagine 5 other ways to wear this top, but because the people in Ubud are really contented with their simple ways of life, I adapted to the culture and kept things simple with just a pair of white shorts and a high bun to keep my messy hair in check.
How do you love this look? And, how do you love Ubud's lush greenery?
