"Don't feel stupid if you don't like what everyone else pretends to love."

I always catch myself in situations where my opinions are different and I'd question myself. I'd wonder if I was missing out on something, or I'd feel miserable and "left out". Does it happen to you too? When friends gush over a blockbuster movie and you just don't understand why? When everyone just loves flatforms and you just refuse to own a pair? When people talk about how great the opposition party is and you stay true to PAP? When you speak your heart and people say you do not make sense?

And if you succumb, you are wrong. You are only truly inferior if you allow yourself to feel so. I have outgrown that stage, and I have learned to appreciate myself so much more - my thoughts, my feel, my reaction and every little thing that makes me 'me'.

You see, we may not be right all the time. We err, and that is only human. We learn through mistakes, and we improve through constructive criticism. But we do not ever lose ourselves in lies and pretence; we do not need to pretend to be that someone whom everyone loves - whom we are not.

The old but gold saying goes, "the people who mind won't matter and the people who matter won't mind."

It is absolutely okay to be different. What makes you different makes you beautiful.
