Visiting Roma is an idea that always warms our hearts, because the Eternal City is full of surprises and every trip has us developing yet another layer of love for it. (Almost) Everything about Roma is ancient, and precisely where its beauty lies so deep. Nothing intrigues us like Roma does, and every walk brings about new realizations and discoveries - you can be waiting for the bus along the main road and right ahead of you, you see a random patch of ruins that is left untouched and standing proudly under the gleaming sun; take a turn into a small alley and you will be surprised by a fountain that is made from a coffin - with a sprout of water that is completely potable.

Words fail me and for my inadequacy and the lack of a more interesting description, Roma is really an extremely beautiful mystery in many ways. All roads lead to Rome, they say; and I'd say all hearts stay in Rome. I leave a little part of me in Roma each time I take a trip there.

As much as I detest history, Roma's is one so rich and bewildering that I often find myself googling for facts and stories when I chance upon something new, or when I am simply puzzled by anything and everything I see. I cannot quite understand why Roma is not a preferred city among travelers, but it sure weighs a heavy weight in my heart, just because.

There are many reasons to love Roma, and while I am sieving out photos for this post, just looking at them made me feel like I am transported back to the city of resplendence.

The sheer grandeur of Pantheon and Colosseo, the wonders of Campo de Fiori, people living and breathing Art in Piazza Navona, colorful markets of the neighborhoods, tiramisu and local sandwiches for breakfast, our favorite Nutella gelato from Giolitti, pizzas for €9, and the endless cobbled pavements that speak of such enchantment...

Roma, oh Roma! Ti'Amo, Roma!
