Maxi dresses are revolutionized by Angelina Jolie, and we all have so much to thank her for. They make one stand out from the crowd instantly, and are fuss-free pieces that require little effort to style, but much to my bafflement, there are many females who can still get them wrong.

While maxis are dime a dozen, from printed pieces that flow with the wind to loud figure-hugging ones,  everyone must have a basic mono-colored maxi to turn to on lazy days. Or some call it "off-form days".

I was due for a lunch at Sky on 57 that Sunday, and because I snoozed my alarm for a million times, I ended up rushing through getting prepped. The restaurant has a strict dress code, so I threw on this simple number that Sheila gave to me some time ago. Still haven't gotten sick of it, because the cutting has this ridiculously slimming and lengthening effect. And we could always do with subtly sexy back details, yes? You can't really go wrong with a basic maxi like this. All I needed was matchy bag and accessories, and sky-high stilettos, and I was on my way for a plate of S$48 Lobster Hokkien Mee.

(And if you asked me, I would tell you the taste wasn't extraordinarily out of the world, but the distinct sweetness of the fresh lobster certainly made a difference to the popular Singapore favorite. Well worth a try, but I won't necessarily go back for it a second time.)
