Taipei, Baby!
I spent a short week at Taipei earlier in January with the man, the best girlfriend and her boyfriend. Well, now fiance, because he proposed to her at Taipei!!!!!!!!!!! I was more excited than her and I cried more than her!
It was a slow trip of exploring quaint cafes, pigging out on famous street snacks, and to simply saunter around random areas. But, I didn't quite understand the hype about shopping in Taipei, though I lugged back enough false lashes to last me a decade. Okay, I almost forgot about the numerous shu uemura color palettes that were so much cheaper than Singapore's.
If I was to return to Taipei, I would pick sitting at a cafe with a book and a cuppa over shopping anytime. There are countless cafes in that city, and I don't remember seeing a single cafe with disappointing decor. Every single one that we went to had a different vibe to offer, with furbishing so intriguing and inviting. I guess that explains why we spent most of our days there eating cakes and sipping latte.
I love Taipei just that way.

And I can finally tick Hello Kitty Sweets off my to-visit list! For the longest time ever, I had been bugging B to bring me there, and despite Marilyn's and Ben's ultimate refusal to go with me, B brought me there all the same. We spent an afternoon drowning in the cuteness of everything Hello Kitty, and walked out with desserts OD. But, totally worth it!
Most people who had been there said the desserts were horrible, but honestly, we begged to differ. We ordered 5 types and they were all very decent. I especially loved the Chocolate Mousse Cake and Layered Fruit Cake!
Truth to be told, I made my decisions the bimbotic way - I ordered based on what would look good in pictures (and Instagram). I saw this pink x black slice, and I picked it right away. And yes, this was the Chocolate Mousse Cake that I polished off. Highly recommended!
We may be returning next month, or in mid-2013. And though the shopping does not excite me, anywhere in the world with you will be a trip I look forward to.
