2 weeks flew by just like that. My Japan adventure is over, and here I am back in Singapore, attending to the scary amount of work on my laptop and missing everything about my holiday as I look through my folders of photos to filter good shots for more travelogues. So cliche to say it seems like just yesterday that I found out about my surprise trip and started our planning bla bla bla, but it really feels so and I promise I won't laugh at my friends whenever they lament about withdrawal syndromes.

Today's travelogue features one of my favorite days, and marks one with the most photos in a single post. I know, B snapped non-stop and we really got carried away with the charming Tokyo. The weather was the chilliest of all our 2 weeks, but that gave me every reason to doll up in autumn wear, and to channel a little Shibuya to Harajuku. As you can tell, I can never be a Harajuku girl, but it was so much fun doing extra big curls and putting on a tiara, and passing off as one of those girls on the streets of bustling Shibuya.

We spent the day exploring Harajuku and its surrounding enclaves. Takeshita Street is so famous and characteristic as the world knows it, but what we really love is the quaint Omotesando Hills and Jingumae. Cafe-hopping may not be everyone's idea of fun, but that is precisely our cup of tea (or latte) and how we would very much prefer to spend our afternoons - an aroma cuppa, some sweets, and lots of little chats with each other. We found ourselves strolling through the residential streets and slopes, chancing upon little coffee houses and dessert stops, quirky local designer boutiques, and being photobombed by a rather fierce baker whose wrath I (kind of) incurred when I borrowed a spot at the foot of his bakery for a photo.

The both of us were so very grateful for an afternoon of quality time with each other in the simplest way. We caught up with some work emails, discussed a little about the remaining Q4, got ourselves excited about our next holiday (soon!), dreamed about all the chirashi-don and ramen that we had and were going to eat, and shared every little joke and laughter. That is precisely what I love about us - that we are able to share our lives, to work together harmoniously, to teach and help each other improve, to chat about anything and everything under the sun, to laugh at the silliest nonsense and goofiest moments, and to always have someone to rely on through happiness and sorrow.

B, you are my best friend, my soulmate and my lover. And I will always remember this day in Tokyo with you. :)
